About Us
Cheyenne Technology was founded as a Wyoming LLC in 2009 by managing partner
Heather Shoemaker. The goal was to provide unique and compelling software solutions for Cheyenne and, well, everywhere. Our focus is three-fold:
Social, Mobile and Global Web Solutions. We provide both
software products and software development services. Our clients range from local Cheyenne organizations such as
Visit Cheyenne to multinational organizations such as
ABLE Innovations.
Partners
Cheyenne Technology success is directly linked to our valuable partnerships.
- An early partnership with ABLE Innovations resulted in the development and joint ownership of a product called LinguistNow, which automates the localization of CRX content for clients such as SurveyMonkey.
- Local partnerships with companies like Western Sky Design and Chiliinteractive allow Cheyenne Technology to produce best-in-class design for websites and mobile apps alike.
The Name
The designer who created our logo is Thai and lives in Bangkok. He had never stepped foot in Cheyenne but we told him we wanted a logo that was clearly Western though not an overplayed lasso or fence post.
We were thinking maybe creative use of barbed wire or the beloved bucking horse. He did some research and insisted on a tipi because afterall, we are named after a tribe called The Cheyenne. We were concerned about whether it would be appropriate given that Cheyenne Technology is not a Native American-run business so we consulted with Conrad Fisher, the Tribal Historic Preservation Officer with the Northern Cheyenne Tribe. Conrad, a super nice guy, suggested a Cheyenne Tribute area within the site to talk about the origins of the Cheyenne and the tipi. Please visit our Cheyenne Tribute page to learn more.
